The Vree were one of the first species that made contact with the Humans. They visit Earth more or less regularly from the 1950's on but mankind wasn't ready for an official first contact procedure yet. The Vree decided to observe the Humans and they sometimes kidnapped persons for further tests. This behavior later led to a lawsuit in which the descendants of kidnapped people demanded smart money from the Vree. This lawsuit was very controversial among the other races but the Vree actually paid the money because they didn't want to risk a bad relationship with the powerful Earth Alliance.
The Vree society is based on several guilds that act quite independent from each other. The government is called called "The Ventuki Conglomerate" and consists of two houses. The higher house represents the bigger and wealthy guilds while the smaller guilds send their representatives to the lower house. Some guilds like the Merchants and the Mecernaries have their own armed forces and civilian vessels.
It has too be noted that not all guilds joined the Army of Light and later the Interstellar Alliance.

This version of the Vree saucer normally acts as support vessel for the bigger saucer ships. With a size of just over 100 m it is quite small compared to other capital ships but it is extremely fast and agile. The main weapon systems are located outside the ships body which makes them easy to hit.
