The Gaim Intelligence is one of the most bizarre members of the Interstellar Alliance. Their look is very strong related to that of insects and their society is based on a Queen with a strictly divided system of drones like warriors or workers. For some thousand of years various houses on the homeplanet N'Chak'Fah fought against each other in "bloody" wars.

This changed when the Narn tried to occupy the planet around 2210. The Narn hoped that the Gaim were an easy target in their revenge against the Centauri had to face one of the most feared enemy, the Gaim warrior drone which has been genetically manipulated for combat missions. The Narn lost thousands of soldiers before they decided to abandon the Gaim homeworld.

The queens of the different houses met to discuss how to prevent such an invasion in the future and they decided to make contact with other races. For the first time in Gaim history all houses worked together for a common goal and so they created a new type of drone which is able to represent all houses to the other races. The Gaim also started buying spaceflight technology like old ships and shipyards from other races.
