3 Starfury patrol Babylon 5

The Starfury is the backbone of the Earth Alliance military equipment. It entered active duty in the last year of the Earth-Minbari war. The ship looks a bit nasty but the design is very efficient. The fighter is equipped with eight thrusters, two per wing, which allow extremely agile maneuvers like a 360 degree on the point turn.

The ship is not capable of atmospheric flights, making it vulnerable when an enemy tries to lure the Starfury pilot into the atmosphere of a nearby planet. The pilot stands in the cockpit to provide a better control of the ship in combat or normal flight situations. The guns are attached below and above the cockpit and later upgrades provide an additional four missile pack. During the last 20 years, several modifications of the vessel have been made, which include a "two seat bomber" or the PSI-Corps reconnaissance fighter which is equipped with some kind of stealth device.

6 Starfuries launch from Babylon 5
The 56 Starfuries that are stationed at Babylon 5 patrol the station and defend any kinds of "friendly" vessels against attackers. Many Starfuries have been destroyed when defending the station against loyalist Earth Alliance forces in 2260 that tried to seize control over the station. After this attack many of the destroyed Starfuries have been replaced by the follow-up model Thunderbolt.
